I'm not talking about the major clashes that took place there at the beginning of 2014 which ended with the Islamic State in complete control of the city. After the fall of Raqqa to rebels in spring 2013, IS slowly pushed the rebels out while ostensibly being their allies but how? Why didn't the rebels fight back?
